COURSE OUTLINE

I.  COURSE DESCRIPTION

            The industrial relations system (focused on the labor sector) and the economy, a study of IR and economic concepts, principles, institutions and processes at the micro and macro levels with emphasis on labor in the context of developing economy. 

II. COURSE OBJECTIVES 

            At the end of the course, the Learner must be able to:

  1. learn the various social science disciplines needed to study IR and the systems approach as a method of analysis in IR.
  2. be familiar with the components of the IR system– its actors, processes, environments and inputs and goals.
  3. learn about conflicts and conflict resolutions among the IR actors.

III. REQUIREMENTS FROM THE LEARNER

  1. Downloading and studying the prescribed modules
  2. Participating in online and face-to-face (f2f) discussions and interactions
  3. Submission of course project or paper output
